picture-of-tera-1qqqTera Fay Grace Jolly went missing in Waskaganish First Nation on February 28th, 2009. The  community of about 2000 is located on the south-east shore of James Bay, and is one of many Cree communities in Northern Quebec dealing with brutal social and environmental impacts caused by the James Bay Project.

Tera, 16, was last seen at 10 pm the night she went missing. Before a proper search could be conducted, her body was found by the Waskaganish police, who had received several tips from the community. She was discovered in the basement of a house at 25 Smoky Hill in Waskaganish, just 2 days after she had gone missing.

A friend of Tera’s boyfriend’s, Archie Stevens, 29, of Waskaganish, was charged with second-degree murder. Tera’s body had been found in his mother’s house.

The last sentence isn’t quiet true, the body was found under Archie’s mother’s trailer. He made a hole in a room and hid her under the trailer.
