I knew Vanessa and her mother.

After all these month's I don't understand why there is no news on her case.
I have Googled her name only to find the initial news of her death.

You would think the police sevices board/media would say something about the case, and whether it's ongoing, still deemed suspious,or whether she died of natural causes.

Each day for the better part of one year this past thinking of Tiffany Morrison, her extended family and the social impact of Tiffany's unresolved disappearance from the Kahnawake Kanienke'ha:ka community here beside Tiohtia:ke[~"Montreal"], & receiving knowledge of Kwaronhiahawi's disappearance sent a new shock through all of this... I mainly want to say that I believe the pictures & names & personal stories of our missing women & girls deserve to be front & center in the consciousness of every single individual of every age who exists within our territory of Onowaregeh, and this appeal is to request that this web-site also be redesigned so that this attention is always maintained at the forefront as the first information a person encounters whenever they come to this web site, so that we all can remain completely focused upon the continuing impacts of the tragedies created throughout our communities by these disappearances and murders of the most important individuals amongst our society...

Today being February 23rd, & just now I have come over to this site immediately after having followed the story link I received by Email that an On^yota a'ka teenage girl's body was found today at Oneida Nation of the Thames, my own nation's community. From the experiences of Tiffany & Kwaronhiahawi's disappearances, in receiving today's news I am beyond shocked, I can say that it occurs to me that I was personally already prepared for this & somewhere mentally & emotionally more than half prepared even while never consciously expecting that it might or could have ever happened...
... The main thing I want to say, directed toward my nation, is that I want the circumstances of our community having lost Sierra Phillips in this way & during this time of an epidemic of violence unfolding directed toward our women & girls, that On^yota a'ka become united, Joel Abrahms to demonstrate & prove his solidarity with the people by renouncing the colonial position which he currently holds in direct cooperation with the alien ways of the colonial society responsible for Sierra's death. Shocked & sorrowful feelings and expressions of sympathy for Sierra's family are not strong enough emotions for the On^yota a'ka nation to make right in these circumstances, and this is true for all First Nations communities who have lost our irreplaceable women & girls and suffered immeasurably through this genocidal epidemic unfolding in the name of Canada...
I am also writing this here because Missing Justice is a 'safe' place being an organization demonstrating faithful solidarity in the actions needed to solve this issue, & also to make mention that I was effectively forced to come here to spell out my thoughts because today's story, published at a canoe.ca website, was already closed to public commenting & what does that say about Canada as well?
To call oneself a Canadian invites shame upon oneself.

Canada & the world has begun to become more acutely and persistently aware of all of this, largely thanks to this organization and their network... Canada OWES boosting funding support to 50M+ this time, to enable Sisters In Spirit to build out their network and capacity building so that aboriginal women within each & every community urban & rural can avail themselves of resources to take initiates and address the problems directly and rebuild their families and communities up from the foundations...
Also, I would like to see more regular-consistent international attention following this issue. A war being waged against Afghanis is ludicrous and meaningless, whereas this is a fight for human justice that truly-actually does matter in this world.

I'm glad about this, because my sister Janet Henry is one of the missing women from the downtown eastside, she's been missing since 1997
We think she end up on that Pickton Farm. The missing women task force also think so. It's been soo tough for my family and I. At time's it can be unbearable not having any answer's. She was a mother. Her daughter was on 12 when her mom went missing. She is now in her early 20's she is doing well she graduated since her mom went missing and is married now. She also got her criminology deploma. I've done almost every thing that I can to find my sister. It has taken it's tole on family member's. My younger brother Lance was going to the court and one day after court he went home and went on the computor to talk to friend's they thought he just signed off, but he died right there, his 15 year old son found him. I hope and pray one day we find answers to my sister's disappearance. Take care

Please note the inacurracy of those missing numbers along the Highway of Tears, namely Prince George to Prince Rupert is 11 women. The other 8 women missing are from central BC and one from Alberta. These 8 were added by the police task force E-Pana after doing similarity profiling that fit the others missing along the Highway of Tears.
